You can manage whether manual edits to reference data require authorization before being released to the Eagle data warehouse. For example, you can authorize or reject an override posted to a gold copy field.

Authorize an Override

To authorize the override posted to a gold copy field:

  1. In the Reference Desk workspace, click Securities in the left navigation pane.
    You see the Securities workspace with all the available securities.
  2. Click the View By drop down and select Exception.
  3. Complete the required search criteria and click the Search button.
    You see the search results based on the criteria you selected.
  4. Select the exception you wish to authorize and click Edit.
    You see the Edit Security window with the Security Details tab selected.
  5. Select the exception for the reference data type you wish to authorize.
  6. Click Authorize.
    You see the Needs Authorization dialog box with the list of fields that have been overridden and require authorization by a manager.
  7. Select the exception override you wish to authorize and click Authorize.
    You see the authorization statusĀ for the exception override change from Require Approval to Authorized.
  8. Click Save.
    The system clears the gold copy field exception.
  9. Close the Edit Security bottom tab to return to the Securities workspace.

Reject an Override

To reject the override posted to a composite field:

  1. From the Reference Desk workspace, click Securities in the left navigation.
    You see the Securities workspace with all the available securities.
  2. Click the View By drop down and select Exception.
  3. Complete the required search criteria and click the Search button.
    You see the search results based on the criteria you selected.
  4. Select the exception you wish to reject and click Edit.
    You see the Edit Security window with the Security Details tab selected.
  5. Select the exception for the reference data type you wish to reject.
  6. Click Reject.
    You see the Needs Authorization dialog box with the list of fields that have been overridden and require authorization by a manager.
  7. Select the exception override you wish to reject and click Reject.
    You see authorization status for the exception override change from Require Approval to Rejected.
  8. Click Save. The system displays a blue exclamation mark to indicate the override was rejected.
  9. Close the Edit Security bottom tab to return to the Securities workspace.
