Note

By default, when you create a new Oracle database user, the user is created with a temporary password and EXPIRED status. When the new user logs in to the Oracle database for the first time with the temporary password, the system immediately prompts to change the password. Once the new password is established, the user status is changed to OPEN (active).

To create a new database user:

  1. In User Administration, click Setup and then click DB Users.
You see a list of all the available database users.
  2. Click Create New and select Create New User.

  3. In the Add New DB User dialog box, complete all the fields. All fields are required.
  4. Under Select DB Roles, click to check the database role for the new user. You must select at least one role.
  5. Click Save Changes on the ribbon to save the new database user.
  6. In the DB Users workspace, review the new user you created.
  7. When the new user logs in to the Oracle database for the first time with the temporary password, the system immediately prompts to change the password. Once the new password is established, the user status is changed to OPEN (active).
  8. If needed, refresh, print, or export the information displayed in the workspace.
