Note

By default, a changed password will be shown as EXPIRED in the User Status field. When the new user logs into the Oracle database for the first time with the temporary password, the system immediately prompts to change the password. Once the new password is established, the User Status is changed to OPEN (active). 

IS THE INFORMATION IN THIS PAGE STILL CORRECT?

To change the database user's password:

  1. In User Administration, click Setup and then click DB Users.
    You see a list of all the available database users.
  2. To quickly find a user, click the Find button.
  3. Click the database user whose password you wish to change and click Change Password.
  4. In the Change Password dialog box, enter the appropriate information and click OK.
  5. If needed, refresh, print, or export the information displayed in the workspace.
