The Overrides panel displays the overrides that are currently in effect for an entity (including the name of the field to which an override has been applied, the current override value, and the expiration date). You can filter the view according to policy, field, status, and expiration date. From this panel, you can change the override value and the expiration date.

View and Edit Data Overrides

You can view and edit the data overrides you have committed.

To view data overrides:

  1. In the Portfolio Desk workspace, navigate to the appropriate entity.
  2. Click Data Overrides on the ribbon.
    The Data Overrides dialog box opens, displaying the list of overrides that satisfy the default filter options.
  3. (Optional) In the filter section, to customize the search for overrides, you can modify the default options as needed.

  4. Click Search.
    The search returns a list of overrides that satisfy the changed filter options.
  5. Select an override in the list and double-click it.

To edit data overrides:

  1. In the Portfolio Desk workspace, navigate to the appropriate entity.
  2. Click Data Overrides on the ribbon.
    The Data Overrides dialog box opens, displaying the list of overrides that satisfy the default filter options.
  3. (Optional) In the filter section, to customize the search for overrides, you can modify the default options as needed.

  4. Click Search.
    The search returns a list of overrides that satisfy the changed filter options.
  5. Select an override in the list and then click Edit Data Override.
    The Edit Data Override dialog box opens.
  6. Revise the override as required and then click OK.
    The system displays the refreshed list of data overrides with the change applied.

    You can change the value in the Override Value and Expiration Date columns.

  7. Right-click the value you want to edit and then click Edit Override. Or, double-click the value you want to edit.
    The Edit dialog box opens.
  8. Complete the following fields in the Edit dialog box as needed, and then click Save.

    OptionDescription

    Current Value

    Displays the current value of the field in the Override Value column.

    New Value

    Enables you to specify a new value for the field.

    Edit Type

    Displays an override value, which is used to populate a field regardless of whether a source system value exists.

    Expires After

    Enables you to specify a new expiration date.

    Reason Code

    Enables you to specify a reason for the override.

    Comment

    Enables you to enter comments.

    Update Date

    Displays the update date.

    Update User

    Displays the name of the user.

  9. Click Save and then click View Change Summary to review the changes.
  10. To override the field, click Submit Changes. To return to the previous window, click Cancel.
