In addition to securities, NAIC Designations can be assigned to brokers, issuers, and sovereign countries using the Create NAIC Designation panel.
Broker designations are leveraged in the preparation of Schedule DB Counterparty reports on Schedule DB – Part D, Section 1. The issuer and sovereign country designations are used in building data for the Supplemental Investment Risks Interrogatories. You can also load this information using batch uploaders and message center streams.

Note:

If derivatives are held by a client, all brokers that have entered into derivative contracts must have an NAIC Designation assignment.
