In the Position Viewer tool, if you accrue interest on segregated cash balances, you can view cash balance accrual positions. A cash balance accrual position is a position created for a cash balance accrual security.

View a Newly Established Cash Balance Accrual Position
After you use the Interest On Cash Balances – Update Accrual Position panel in the Global Process Center to accumulate cash balances in the settled cash balance table by entity and cash account, you create a cash balance accrual position in the Cost object with one open lot on day 1. You can view that position in Position Viewer. The position has quantity but zero cost.
To view cost accounting information for a cash balance accrual security position:
1. From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.
2. Enter Position Viewer in the Start Search text box.
3. Click the Position Viewer (Accounting Center) link to access the Position Viewer tool.
You see the Query Positions window. The Query Based On field displays One Portfolio by default.
4. Select the entity and source you want to view.
5. Click the Accounting Basis field and select the entity's custody basis.
The custody basis is the entity's accounting basis that has its Position Cash Segregation Basis field set to Yes to enable cash segregation. When you select the custody basis, additional fields appear where you can specify custodian criteria.
6. Click the View by Custody Location field and click Yes or No.
If you select Yes, you limit your results to a single custody location. A custody location is a custodian bank with a custodian bank account number. If you select No, your results include all custody locations.
7. Click the Custodian Bank field or Custodian Bank Code field to select a custodian bank.
You can select a custodian bank which has an entity bank relationship defined for the entity or the entity's reporting composite. If multiple custodians have entity bank relationships with the entity, you can select one custodian.
8. Click the Cash Balance Date Type field and indicate the date type of cash balance record you want to view.
Options include:
– Posting date
– Trade date
– Accounting date
– Contractual settlement date
– Month end date
9. Click the Display Zero Cash Balances field and select Yes or No.
If you select Yes, the query includes cash balance records for the specified cash position and asset currency. A zero cash balance is a valid balance. Otherwise, the results exclude zero cash balances.
10. Complete the remaining options on the Query Positions window.
11. Click Search.
You see the Cost, Cash, and Income objects for the positions that met your criteria.
12. Select the position for the cash balance accrual security a processing security type of CRINTC in the top part of the Query Result window in the custody accounting basis.
In the upper pane, you can view the asset quantity in Units associated with the specified custody location for the position. The cost is zero.
13. Click the Cost tab, and then click the Open Lots tab.
You can initially view one open lot for the cash balance accrual security. An MTOPEN transaction with an event type of ADJ_CASH_BAL establishes the position. An example follows.

View Cash Balance Adjustments for a Cash Balance Accrual Position
After you use the Interest On Cash Balances – Update Accrual Position panel in the Global Process Center to establish a cash balance accrual position in the Cost object, the update event associated with this panel inserts an adjustment row in the object each day to adjust the position up or down when the settled cash balance changes.
To view cash balance adjustments for a cash balance accrual security position:
1. In Position Viewer, enter the criteria to select the cash balance accrual position you want to view in the Query Position window.
Ensure you select the cash balance accrual security and are viewing the custody accounting basis.
2. Click the cash balance accrual security position in the top part of the Query Result window.
In the upper pane, you can view the asset quantity in Units associated with the specified custody location for the position. The quantity increases or decreases to reflect the changes in the settled cash balance.
3. Click the Cost tab, and then click the Open Adjustments tab.
You see a row for each adjustment that reflects an increase or decrease to the settled cash. The MTADJUST transaction has an event type of ADJ_CASH_BAL.

View Accruals for a Cash Balance Accrual Position
After you use the Interest On Cash Balances – Accrue panel in the Global Process Center to process cash balance accruals, you can view the accruals in Position Viewer. Daily accruals are processed against the cash balance position and are calculated based on the setup of the cash balance accrual security that is linked to the cash account.
To view accruals for a cash balance accrual security position:
1. In Position Viewer, enter the criteria to select the cash balance accrual position you want to view in the Query Position window.
Ensure you select the cash balance accrual security and are viewing the custody accounting basis.
2. Click the cash balance accrual security position in the top part of the Query Result window.
In the upper pane, you can view the asset quantity in Units associated with the specified custody location for the position.
3. Click the Income tab, and then click the Income Lots tab.
You see a row for each cash balance accrual.
