You can use legal entity identifiers (LEIs) for exchanges to track parties to financial transactions.

Add LEI Information for an Exchange

In the Add Exchange panel and the Change Exchange panel, you can manage the Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) code assignment and LEI supporting details for an exchange.

To add LEI information when you add an exchange:

  1. From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.
  2. Enter Add Exchange in the Start Search text box.
  3. Click the Add Exchange link to access the panel. 
    You see the Add Exchange panel.
  4. Complete the options in the Add Exchange panel.
  5. Click Submit.
  6. Close the Add Exchange bottom tab.

Add Exchange Panel Options

The following are the options in the Add Exchange panel.

Exchange Information Options

  • Exchange ID (tag 5261). Specifies the code value assigned to the exchange under code category iEXCHANGE CODE and source EAGLE PACE.
  • Exchange Description (tag 5262). Specifies the exchange description.
  • Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) (tag 5089). Specifies the legal entity identifier (LEI) that identifies the exchange as a financial party. When you enter an LEI value, the panel unhides the Legal Entity Identifier Details section for data entry. If the LEI already exists, the LEI details are displayed.

Legal Entity Identifier Details Options

  • Legal Name (tag 5090). Specifies the legal name of the exchange, as the financial party registered to the LEI.
  • Entity Status (tag 5091). Specifies the status of the exchange. For example: ACTIVE and INACTIVE.
  • Legal Form (tag 5092). Specifies the legal form of the exchange, as the financial party registered to the LEI. For example, CORPORATION.
  • Assigned Date (tag 5093). Specifies the date when the LEI was assigned.
  • Last Update Date (tag 5094). Specifies the date when the LEI information was last updated.
  • Disabled Date (tag 5095). Specifies the date when the LEI information was disabled.
  • Record State (tag 5096). Specifies the record state for the exchange's LEI. The record state indicates the current process status of the CFTC Interim Compliant Identifier (CICI) record. For example, UNDER_REVIEW, DUPLICATE, CONFLICTING_SOURCES, VALIDATED, INADEQUATE_RESOURCES, and PENDING_REMOVAL.
  • Certification State (tag 5097). Specifies the certification state used to register the exchange's LEI. For example, CERTIFIED, NOT_CERTIFIED, and STALE.
  • Street (tag 5098). Specifies the street address used to register the exchange's LEI.
  • City (tag 5099). Specifies the city used to register the exchange's LEI.
  • State (tag 5100). Specifies the state code used to register the exchange's LEI.
  • ZIP (tag 5180). Specifies the ZIP code used to register the exchange's LEI.
  • Country Code (tag 5181). Specifies the country code used to register the exchange's LEI.
