This topic provides an overview of Rollforward reports.

Cost of Investments Rollforward Report

The Cost of Investments Rollforward report displays the position records for a given entity and date range. You can display beginning the cost balances per holding, the cost changes during the reporting period, the ending costs, and the cost variances for cost changes not reflected in the tables. You can display lot level and position level holdings.

Advanced report views available for this report include:

  • Local/Base. This view displays local and base summary information grouped by asset currency.
  • Local/Base Cost. This view displays local and base costs grouped by asset, with variance details.
  • Local/Base Cost Variance. This view displays cost variances grouped by asset with variance details.
  • Units Rollforward. This view displays units rollforward details.

To create the Cost of Investments Rollforward report:

  1. From the Accounting Center window, click Reporting in the left navigation.
  2. Double click Investment AccountingRollforward Reports, and Cost of Investments Rollforward.
    You see the Cost of Investments Rollforward panel.
  3. Complete the fields on the Cost of Investments Rollforward panel.

  4. Click Submit and then click Advanced Report or ClassicGrid Report.
  5. The report appears on your desktop for the view selected.

Cost of Investments Rollforward Panel Options

You can use the Cost of Investments Rollforward panel to generate the Cost of Investments Rollforward report. A definition of the options on the Cost of Investments Rollforward panel follows. 

Search Criteria

The following are the options for search criteria:

  • Entity ID. Specifies a portfolio, sector portfolio, composite portfolio, or Master Fund by the entity ID of the entity.
  • Entity Name. Specifies a portfolio, sector portfolio, composite portfolio, or Master Fund by name of the entity.
  • Accounting Basis. Specifies the entity accounting basis. For example, USTAX, GAAP, or IFRS.
  • Detail Selection. Specifies whether the holdings are at the Position Level or Lot Level. The default is Position Level.
  • Report Type. Specifies the type of report date used for report results.
    Options include:
    –  Accounting Date (Default)
    –  Month End Date
  • Report Period. Specifies the type of date or date range for controlling your report results.
    Options include:
    –  Daily Activity (Default)
    –  Date Range
    –  Fiscal Year to Date
    –  Life to Date
    –  Calendar Year to Date
    –  Inception to Date
    –  Month to Date
  • Report Start Date. Specifies the start date for your report results. The default is first day of the current month.
  • Report End Date. Specifies the ending date for your report results. The default is today's date.

Selection Criteria

The following are the options for selection criteria:

  • Report Filters. Allows you to show/hide additional security and other filters. The default is No.
  • Advanced Report Options. Allows you to show/hide advanced report detail tab selection, group, sort, and format options. The default is No.
  • Filter Security By. Allows you to show/hide additional report filters.
    Options include:
    –  Security Cross Reference (Default). If you select this option the panel unhides the Xref Type and Xref Security ID fields for data entry.
    –  Issue Name. If you select this option, the panel unhides the Issue Name field for data entry.
    –  Primary Asset ID. If you select this option, the panel unhides the Primary Asset ID field for data entry.
  • Other Filters. Allows you to filter by Asset Currency, Long Short, Investment Type, Security Type, Processing Security Type, and Issue Country.
  • Detail Tab Selection. Allows you to select additional views for your report results.
    Options include:
    –  Summary Local/Base (Default is Yes)
    –  Summary Local Only (Default is No)
    –  Summary Base Only (Default is No)
    –  Detail Local/Base (Default is Yes)
    –  Detail Local Only (Default is No)
    –  Detail Base Only (Default is No)
    –  Unit Rollforward (Default is No)

Income Rollforward Report

The Income Rollforward report displays the beginning balance, accrued income of fixed income and swap securities, and ending balance for positions, for a given entity and date. Accrual income is classified as interest accrual, amortization, OID income, and TIPS income. The report does not return the income accrued by interest-only securities or the accrual income associated with interest rate caps and collars.

Advanced report views available for this report include:

  • Interest Income. This view displays local and base interest income with interest accruals and TIP income activity classifications.
  • Amortization OID. This view displays local and base interest income with amortization and OID income activity classifications.

To create the Income Rollforward report:

  1. From the Accounting Center window, click Reporting in the left navigation.
  2. Double click Investment AccountingRollforward Reports, and Income Rollforward.
    You see the Income Rollforward panel.
  3. Complete the fields on the Income Rollforward panel.

  4. Click Submit and then click Advanced Report or ClassicGrid Report.
    The report appears on your desktop for the view selected.

Income Rollforward Panel Options

You can use the Income Rollforward panel to generate the Income Rollforward report. A definition of the options on the Income Rollforward panel follows. 

Search Criteria

Shareholder Rollforward Report

The Shareholder Rollforward report displays beginning date balance, detailed shareholder activity information, and ending balance for a given entity and report date range in support of daily accounting. You can run the report at the class level or total fund level.

Advanced report views available for this report include:

  • Ledger Rollforward Information
  • Shares Outstanding Rollforward

To create the Shareholder Rollforward report:

  1. From the Accounting Center window, click Reporting in the left navigation.
  2. Double click Investment AccountingRollforward Reports, and Shareholder Rollforward.
    You see the Shareholder Rollforward panel.
  3. Complete the fields on the Shareholder Rollforward panel.

  4. Click Submit and then click Advanced Report or ClassicGrid Report.
    The report appears on your desktop for the view selected.

Shareholder Rollforward Panel Options

You can use the Shareholder Rollforward panel to generate the Shareholder Rollforward report. A definition of the options on the Shareholder Rollforward panel follows. 

  • Master Fund ID. Specifies a Master Fund by the entity ID of the entity.
  • Master Fund. Specifies a Master Fund by name of the entity.
  • Accounting Basis. Specifies the entity accounting basis. For example, USTAX, GAAP, or IFRS.
  • Select View. Allows you to filter the entity view for your report results.
    Options include:
    –  Class (Default)
    –  Total Fund
  • Select Share Class. Allows you to filter by share class. To use this option, you must select Class as your view.
    Options include:
    –  All (Default).
    –  Individual. You can enter a specific share class.
  • Share Class. Specifies the share class for controlling your report results. To use this option, you must select Individual as your share class selection.
  • Report Type. Specifies the type of date for controlling your report results.
    Options include:
    –  Accounting Date (Default)
    –  Month End Date
  • Report Month End Date Option. Specifies the type of month end date used to generate your report results. To use this option you must select Month End Date as your report type.
    Options include:
    –  Run Report by Month End Date (Default)
    –  Run Report by Any Month End Date
  • Report Start Date. Specifies the start date for your report results.
  • Report End Date. Specifies the end date for your report results. To use this option you must select Accounting Date as your report type.
  • Month End Date. Specifies the month end date for your report results. To use this option you must select Month End Date as your report type.

Expense Rollforward Report

The Expense Rollforward report displays the date expense balances, accruals, reclasses, payments, settlements, and adjustments to support daily accounting. The report shows the difference between the derived ending balances and the ending date ledger balances.

Advanced report views available for this report include:

  • Summary. This view displays the beginning date and ending balance by share class
  • Detail. This view displays the beginning date ledger balance, ending date ledger balance, and differences in derived and ending date ledger balances.

To create the Expense Rollforward report:

  1. From the Accounting Center window, click Reporting in the left navigation.
  2. Double click Investment AccountingRollforward Reports, and Expense Rollforward.
    You see the Expense Rollforward panel.
  3. Complete the fields on the Expense Rollforward panel.

  4. Click Submit and then click Advanced Report or ClassicGrid Report.
    The report appears on your desktop for the view selected.

Expense Rollforward Panel Options

You can use the Expense Rollforward panel to generate the Expense Rollforward report. A definition of the options on the Expense Rollforward panel follows.

Search Criteria

Distribution Rollforward Report

The Distribution Rollforward report displays the beginning distribution balances, periodic and daily shareholder distribution activity, and ending balances for a mutual fund. The report shows the difference between the derived ending balance and the ending date ledger balance.

To create the Distribution Rollforward report:

  1. From the Accounting Center window, click Reporting in the left navigation.
  2. Double click Investment AccountingRollforward Reports, and Distribution Rollforward.
    You see the Distribution Rollforward panel.
  3. Complete the fields on the Distribution Rollforward panel and click Submit.
    See the Distribution Rollforward Panel Options section.
  4. Click Submit and then click Advanced Report or ClassicGrid Report.
    The report appears on your desktop for the view selected.

Distribution Rollforward Panel Options

You can use the Distribution Rollforward panel to generate the Distribution Rollforward report. A definition of the options on the Distribution Rollforward panel follows. 

  • Master Fund ID. Specifies a Master Fund by the entity ID of the entity.
  • Master Fund. Specifies a Master Fund by name of the entity.
  • Accounting Basis. Specifies the entity accounting basis. For example, USTAX, GAAP, or IFRS.
  • Select View. Allows you to filter the entity view for your report results.
    Options include:
    –  Class
    –  Total Fund (Default)
  • Select Share Class. Allows you to filter by share class.
    Options include:
    –  All (Default).
    –  Individual. You can enter a specific share class.
  • Share Class. Specifies the share class for controlling your report results. To use this option, you must select Individual as your share class selection.
  • Report Type. Specifies the type of date for controlling your report results.
    Options include:
    –  Accounting Date (Default)
    –  Month End Date

  • Month End Date. Specifies the month end date for your report results. To use this option you must select Month End Date as your report type.

Unsettled Cash Rollforward Report

The Unsettled Cash Rollforward report displays for an entity the beginning unsettled cash balance, activity reported as traded amount, settled amount, and settlement breakage, the ending balance, and the variance. Settlement breakage is the trade date to settlement date gain/loss.

Advanced report views available for this report include:

  • Local. This view displays local amounts by asset grouped by ledger account, long/short position, and asset currency.
  • Base. This view displays with base amounts by asset grouped by the ledger account, long/short position, and asset currency.

  • Local Variance. This view displays with variances detailed at the position level; and Base Variance, with variances detailed at the position level.

To create the Unsettled Cash Rollforward report:

  1. From the Accounting Center window, click Reporting in the left navigation.
  2. Double click Investment AccountingRollforward Reports, and Cash Rollforward.
    You see the Unsettled Cash Rollforward panel.
  3. Complete the fields on the Unsettled Cash Rollforward panel and click Submit.

  4. Click Submit and then click Advanced Report or ClassicGrid Report.
    The report appears on your desktop for the view selected.

Unsettled Cash Rollforward Panel Options

You can use the Unsettled Cash panel to generate the Unsettled Cash Rollforward report. A definition of the options on the Unsettled Cash Rollforward panel follows. 

Search Criteria

    –  Security Cross Reference (Default). If you select this option the panel unhides the Xref Type and Xref Security ID fields for data entry.
    –  Issue Name. If you select this option, the panel unhides the Issue Name field for data entry.
    –  Primary Asset ID. If you select this option, the panel unhides the Primary Asset ID field for data entry.
  • Other Filters. Allows you to filter by Asset Currency, Long Short, Investment Type, Security Type, and Processing Security Type.

Settled Cash Rollforward Report

The Settled Cash Rollforward report displays for an entity the beginning settled cash balance, the activity reported as receipts, disbursements, and net settlement amounts, the ending balance, and the variance. The net settlement amount is the realized gain/loss.

Advance report views available for this report include:

  • Local. This view displays local amounts grouped by asset currency.
  • Base. This view displays base amounts grouped by asset currency.

To create the Settled Cash Rollforward report:

  1. From the Accounting Center window, click Reporting in the left navigation.
  2. Double click Investment AccountingRollforward Reports, and SettledCash Rollforward.
    You see the Settled Cash Rollforward panel.
  3. Complete the fields on the Settled Cash Rollforward panel and click Submit.

  4. Click Submit and then click Advanced Report or ClassicGrid Report.
    The report appears on your desktop for the view selected.

Settled Cash Rollforward Panel Options

You can use the Settled Cash panel to generate the Settled Cash Rollforward report. A definition of the options on the Settled Cash Rollforward panel follows.
