Reference Data Center supports two type of authorizations: Field level and Entity level authorizations.

In the case of Field Level authorization, RDC allows you to manage manual edits/overrides to entity data that require authorization before being considered complete for the release level selected in the policy setup. You can select individual fields to require authorization, in which the data is reviewed and must be approved by another user. A different user in the same business group must authorize or reject any changes that are made by another user.

In the case of Entity Level authorization, RDC allows you to define a workflow where new entities are authorized prior to being released (achieves a complete release status). An entity level authorization is a single, fund level authorization and it is not tied to a specific field. When this option is enabled, the system generates the following actions when creating a new entity:

  • A pending new entity authorization is created.
  • And the entity release status is set to incomplete until approval.

RDC also allows you to generate entity level authorizations whenever an existing entity has a history record duplicated to a new effective date.

  • No labels
