You can schedule an entity build in Automation Center for a Composite (COMP entity type), Aggregate (AGG entity type), or Sub-Portfolio (SUB entity type). 

Create an Entity Build Event

In the Create Event page, you can select an Entity Build event type to schedule. 

To schedule an entity build for a composite, aggregate, or sub-portfolio:

  1. From Automation Center, click Automation Desk.
  2. Do one of the following:
    - Click Events, click Create New, and then click Event. 
    - Click Monitor, click Jobs/Events, click Create New, and then click Event.
    You see the Create New page. From the Create or Edit Event page, you can schedule an entity build.
  3. In the Define page, provide a Name for the event and set the Type to Entity Build. 
  4. Click Next. 
    You see the Details page.

Provide Event Details

In the Create Event wizard's Details page, you can provide the details about the entity build event. Based on the event type you select, you need to provide the appropriate information.  

To specify the Event Details:

  1. In the Type box, click Regular Build. 
    The Daily Custom Index Build option is available for use with custom benchmark entities. 
  2. In the Date Rule box, select a date rule, or click the ellipsis to define Advanced Search criteria.
    You can specify a date rule to build for the Date Rule’s end date or range of dates.
  3. Choose one of the following options:
    - Run for Single Date as Configured. Submits the entity build for the Date Rule's end date.
    - Run for Entire Date Range. Submits the entity build for the entire date range represented by the Date Rule's start and end dates. 
    The Generate Custom Index Result File option applies to custom benchmarks. 
  4. In the Positions Source list, select a source. Or click the ellipsis to use Advanced Search. 
  5. In the Cash Activity Source Rule list, you can select a source rule for cash activity. Or click the ellipsis to use Advanced Search. 
    You can build cash activity for sub-portfolios.
  6. Select one of the following:
    - All Entities. Default. The build applies to all entities.
    - Select Entity. The build applies to the entity you select in the corresponding box. Click the ellipsis to use Advanced Search. 
  7. Click Save & Schedule.
  8. In the Schedule workspace, select the appropriate scheduling options and dependencies.
  9. Finish by clicking Save & Finish.
