If you need to manually add several securities with similar characteristics, you can save time by creating a security profile. A security profile is a template you can use to add repetitive security master information into the system. Once a profile has been created, it is then available for you to apply the profile, to copy and paste the profile for use in a new environment and/or data strategy or to edit the profile and save it as a new profile.

To create a new security profile:

  1. From the toolbar, click Create New.
    You see the Create New Security dialog box.
  2. Click the Data Strategy drop-down list and select a data strategy. Then click Ok.
    You see the security reference fields assigned by the data strategy.
  3. Complete the options on the Create New panel. Required fields are indicated by an *.
  4. From the toolbar, click the Save Input Profile drop-down list and select Save Input Profile As.
    You see the Save As Entry Profile dialog box.
  5. Enter the Profile Name.
  6. Select which fields to include in the profile by clicking on the corresponding check box.
  7. Click Save and then click OK.
    The profile is added to the list of available profiles.
