In the Post Manual Closeout Entry panel, you can clear out residual ledger balances from closeout events using ad-hoc ledger entries. This panel allows you to post ad-hoc ledger entries related to historical Year-End Closeouts with an event type of CLOSEOUT. These entries populate in the ESTAR.ESTAR_LEDGER_POST table with a Message Type value of CLOSEOUT and are reflected on reporting as such.

To post a manual closeout entry:

  1. In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Transactions Ledger > Year End Processing > Post Manual Closeout Entry.
You see the Post Manual Closeout Entry panel.

  2. Under Portfolio Details, select the unique identifier or name for the entity.
The lookup field displays the Portfolio ID and related Portfolio Name for each entry that meet the criteria you entered. When you select a value, you see the portfolio’s related accounting basis, effective date, accounting date, and monthly accounting date.

  3. Under Security Details, specify the security’s name or primary asset ID, along with the Long Short value.

  4. Under Ledger Account Details, select the general ledger accounting to debit and the general ledger account to credit.

  5. Under Ledger Entry Details, specify the amount of the closeout entry in the Amount field, along with the Local To Base Fx Rate field value.

  6. Click Submit.
