In System Management Center, system queries are used for data discovery and reporting, system configuration management, and issue diagnosis. System queries allow you to create and distribute reports without the involvement of a DBA. Eagle provides a comprehensive list of queries for diagnostics, capacity, tuning, and configuration management. These queries can be scheduled or run ad hoc and reports distributed via a number of channels in a variety of formats. You can also create and manage custom queries to suit your specific reporting requirements.
In System Management Center, you can:
- Select and run system queries, print and export query reports to Excel or CSV format, and deliver reports via several channels, including email and FTP. Database system queries run against the database, server system queries collect information about the servers, and script system queries allow sequential processing of several unrelated queries.
- Create schedules to run query groups.
- Group queries based on a role or topic of interest. For example, you can create query groups for GSS Support and Tech Services, as well as for Oracle tablespace use, Oracle rollback contention, and Oracle redo contention queries.
- Create and manage custom queries.
- Review archives from previous query executions to identify trends or anomalies.
- Migrate system queries to different environments.
