As mentioned earlier, an additional Performance System Parameter option was added to support specific monthly build requirements. If Monthly Mode (1 = Enabled) is enabled, this results with all changes Approved during any day in the month being automatically pushed back to the first day of the current month. As a result, the Start Dates and Stop Dates for all membership changes are committed to ENTITY_RANGE_DETAILS as of the first of the month.

This ensures that constituents are entered and removed from a composite for the full month. This mode is commonly used by clients that enter/update entity characteristics during the month and as a result, are required to run daily builds. Daily builds ensure that these characteristic changes are interrogated during the build process if they are used as part of the Performance Composites rules-based criteria.

The Composite Approval module offers virtually the same functionality in Monthly Mode and Default Mode. However, specific logic is applied to support first-of-the- month methodology as it relates to composite inclusion/exclusion and Start/Stop Dates.

Eagle strongly recommends that the Performance System Parameter be selected, not changed, and applied to all composites.

Pending Approvals (Monthly Mode)

The Pending Approvals tab must consider the Monthly Mode setting. To illustrate, consider an example where a client executes daily builds for 1/1/1980 through 1/31/1980 for the composite shown in the following figure. The builds for the composite determined that JKEnt3a, JKEnt3b, JKEnt3c, and JKEnt3d met the composite criteria with an Effective Date of 1/4/1980. Additionally, JKEnt74 and JKEnt79 met the criteria with Effective Dates of 1/7/1980 and 1/31/1980, respectively. However, the Start Dates have been converted to 1/1/1980, since Monthly Mode is enabled.

The Performance Composite Pending Approval Details screen allows you to Approve or Reject each individual record for a given composite. Check the check box next to the entity and click Approve at the top of the screen. This commits the membership change into ENTITY_RANGE_DETAILS for the composite (JKACOM11) for the selected entity with the appropriate Start Date or End Date, which in this case is 1/1/1980. If it is determined that the change is not valid, click Reject to ensure the record is not committed.
