Eagle provides a platform and content for packaged reports that source data from the Mart. Eagle's practice for providing report content is to send it to a reserved or internal mart instance in your database known as EAGLEMART. An internal mart is read-only or "locked" to most user changes.
Eagle uses EAGLEMART to provide models for packaged reports that you can customize. Eagle's models and fields remain confined within the read-only EAGLEMART. If you need to customize, do so in your default mart or, as a best practice, in a different mart instance you set up for this purpose. You can copy EAGLEMART models using the Copy Model function, then customize by editing the copied version. For more information, refer to the Eagle V10.1 Packaged Reports Configuration Guide.

How an Internal Mart Works

An internal mart is indicated in the Data Mart instance dropdown list by a small padlock icon next to the mart icon, as shown in Internal Mart with Padlock Icon.

Figure 70: Internal Mart with Padlock Icon
The following table shows which internal mart functions you can access. The basic logic of internal mart access is that the models of the instance, their groupings, and fields must remain inaccessible. But access is available to those functions that control the mart build process including scheduled and ad hoc submission, selection of funds to build, selective fields usage in schedules, archival, execution logs access, and viewing of mart data.
