Performance fees allow you to calculate incentive-based fees based on a fund's performance in relation to a benchmark. The system calculates the performance fee using defined benchmark/performance data, minimum and maximum fees, minimum and maximum fee rates, and a performance fee period, such as three or five years. You can use Eagle's accounting solution to calculate three types of performance fees:  Current Period Variable Expense, Prior Period Budgeted Expense, and Prior Period Estimated Budgeted Expense.

The system can process performance fee expenses for master fund entities only. They are not accrued for other types of entities.

WRITERS NOTE: verify that performance fees are for use only with master funds. Or just Prior Period perf fees?
