You can lock price records that have already been processed at the original source level or target source level. Locking prices prevents automatic changes triggered by new files and other actions which would affect the best price already determined and approved for use. 

When a record is locked, the override column in both the Gold Copy and Vendor Source display as locked. Locked prices are unable to be override, edited or copied.  To unlock a price record, see Unlock Prices

To lock prices by source:

  1. In the Reference Desk workspace, click Prices in the left navigation.
    You see the Prices workspace with all the available price records.
  2. Click the View Data By drop down and select Vendor Prices or Gold Copy prices from the drop-down list.
  3. From the Date drop-down list, select Effective Date or Process Date and then click on the Calendar icon and select a date.
  4. Select any additional search criteria and then click the Search button.
    You see a list of price records based on the criteria you selected.
  5. Select the price record you want to lock and from the right-click menu select Lock/Unlock Prices >Lock Price by Source.
  6. You see the Lock Price by Source dialog.
  7. Select the Effect Date by clicking on the calendar icon and selecting the date.
  8. Select the Source from the drop-down list.
  9. Select the Primary Asset ID.
  10. Click Lock.
    The price record has been locked.


To lock prices by gold copy or vendor prices:

  1. In the Reference Desk workspace, click Prices in the left navigation.
    You see the Prices workspace with all the available price records.
  2. Click the View Data By drop down and select Vendor Prices or Gold Copy prices from the drop-down list.
  3. From the Date drop-down list, select Effective Date or Process Date and then click on the Calendar icon and select a date.
  4. Select any additional search criteria and then click the Search button.
    You see a list of price records based on the criteria you selected.
  5. Select the price record you want to lock and from the right-click menu select Lock/Unlock Prices >Lock/Unlock Price.
  6. Select one of the following options:
    –   Lock Gold Copy Price only.
    –   Lock Gold Copy Price & Vendor prices.
  7. Click Lock.
    The price record has been locked.
