Portfolio Data Center enables you to make future-dated changes to core characteristics of a fund. Future-dated changes do not affect the current status of an entity.
Business Challenge
Changes to the attributes of an account are frequently known before the time that the change takes effect. For example, today you find out that the account is having a name change that will take effect in two weeks. Portfolio Data Center enables you to make a future-dated entry today for this change.
Behind the scenes
The system creates a history record for the future date with the attributes of the fund. It then modifies the fields in question on that future-dated record. The system processes future-dated changes and passes them through the validation process to determine if the requested changes trigger an exception or require authorization. The system also recognizes when edits are future-dated and does not update the master imprint of the fund. When the processing date reaches the date of the future-dated changes, PDC applies the edits to the master fund record.
