In the Delete Amortization & Accretion Rules panel, you can delete an amortization/accretion rule.
If you incorrectly set up a value for an existing amortization rule, and want to change the amortization rule, you must first delete the existing amortization rule and then establish a new amortization rule.
To delete an amortization & accretion rule:
- Do one of the following:
- In Portfolio Data Center, in the left navigation pane, click Portfolio Desk > Accounting Portfolio Rules > Amortization & Accretion > Delete Amortization & Accretion Rules.
- In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Setup > Portfolio Rules > Amortization & Accretion > Delete Amortization & Accretion Rules.
You see the Delete Amortization & Accretion Rules panel.
- In the Query based on field, select Rule Name to delete a single amortization rule or All to delete all rules.
- If you selected Rule Name, click the Rule Name field lookup and select the rule you want to delete.
- In the Rule Begin Date field, specify a starting date for the rules you want to delete. Otherwise, leave the field blank.
- Click Submit.
You see the amortization/accretion rules that met your criteria in the Show All tab.
- Select each amortization/accretion rule you want to change so that a check mark appears in the Select column, and click Delete Selected Amortization Rules.
You see each rule you selected in the Delete Selected Amortization/Accretion Rules tab.
- Review the amortization/accretion rules you plan to delete.
All fields are locked, and you cannot make changes. The reason for this is that the system only recalculates a yield based on reference data changes, and/or amortization rule instance changes, or on the coupon date of the security. By forcing you to change or delete an amortization rule if the rule was set up incorrectly, the system always recalculates the yield when changes are made.
- Click Submit to delete the displayed amortization rules.
If you need to add a new amortization rule in place of the deleted one, you can use the Create Amortization & Accretion Rules panel. You can also use the List Amortization & Accretion Rules panel and the List Amortization & Accretion Rules History panel to view rule information.
