In the Metadata Manager, you can run and manage comparison reports to identify differences between two metadata snapshots. A snapshot is a "picture" of the metadata from a specific environment taken at a specific time. A snapshot may include all metadata types, or only selected metadata types. You can run a full snapshot comparison report for all metadata in the environment, or a selected snapshot comparison report for selected metadata. The Snapshot Compare reports compare the Active snapshot with the default Primary snapshot.

You can also run a comparison report between metadata in the Eagle's Gold snapshot and your Primary snapshot. The Eagle Gold snapshot contains Eagle's core metadata for the current release.
