A share class is a designation, usually alphabetic, given to a fund's shares. In the Create Entity Share Class Information panel, you can add a share class to a master fund entity. You must post a share class allocation if you manually add, change, and delete share class information. You can post the allocation using the Post Class Allocation Entries panel.

Create Share ClassesIn the Create Entity Share Class Information panel, you can add a share class to a master fund entity.
To add a share class:
Add a class allocation rule, if you have not already done so
. See the Manage Allocation Rules section.
Do one of the following:
- In Portfolio Data Center, in the left navigation pane, click Portfolio Desk > Accounting Portfolio Setup > Mutual Funds > Create Entity Share Class Information.
- In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Setup > Portfolio Setup > Mutual Funds > Create Entity Share Class Information.
You see the Create Entity Share Class Information panel.
Complete the options on the Create Entity Share Class Information panel.
Click Submit.
You are ready to trigger the share class allocation.
