A share class is a designation, usually alphabetic, given to a fund's shares. In the Create Entity Share Class Information panel, you can add a share class to a master fund entity. You must post a share class allocation if you manually add, change, and delete share class information. You can post the allocation using the Post Class Allocation Entries panel.

Create Share Classes

In the Create Entity Share Class Information panel, you can add a share class to a master fund entity.

To add a share class:

  1. Add a class allocation rule, if you have not already done so.

See the Manage Allocation Rules section.
  1. Do one of the following: 
    - In Portfolio Data Center, in the left navigation pane, click Portfolio Desk Accounting Portfolio Setup > Mutual Funds Create Entity Share Class Information.
    - In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Setup Portfolio Setup > Mutual Funds Create Entity Share Class Information.
    You see the Create Entity Share Class Information panel.

  2. Complete the options on the Create Entity Share Class Information panel. 

  3. Click Submit.
    You are ready to trigger the share class allocation.

Post Share Class Allocations

You must post class allocation entries to

trigger Click the Trigger Allocation - Class link to access the panel

post a share class allocation if you manually add, change, and delete share class information.

To post a share class allocation:

  • From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.
  • Enter Trigger Allocation - Class in the Start Search text box.
    1. In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Fund Accounting > Allocations Post Class Allocation Entries.
      You see the

    Trigger
    1. Post Class Allocation

    - Class
    1. Entries panel.

    2. Complete the options on the

    Trigger Allocation - Class panel
    1. Post Class Allocation Entries panel.

    2. Click Submit.
      The system posts the share class allocations to the ledger

    List Share Class Information

    In the List Entity Share Class Information panel, you can view share class information for an entity/share class code grouping.

    To list share class information:

  • From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.
    1. Do one of the following: 
      - In Portfolio Data Center, in the left navigation pane, click Portfolio Desk Accounting Portfolio Setup > Mutual Funds List Entity Share Class Information

     in the Start Search text box.Click the 
    1. .
      - In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Setup Portfolio Setup > Mutual Funds List Entity Share Class Information

      You see the List Entity Share Class Information panel.

    2. Complete the options on the List Entity Share Class Information panel.

    3. Click Submit.
      You see information about the share class for the master fund entity that met your criteria in the Show All tab in a grid format and the Share Class Detail tab in a report format

    List All Share Classes for an Entity

    In the List All Share Classes for an Entity panel, you can view a list of all share classes for a master fund entity.

    To list all share classes

    :
  • From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.
  • Enter 

    for an entity:

    1. Do one of the following: 
      - In Portfolio Data Center, in the left navigation pane, click Portfolio Desk Accounting Portfolio Setup > Mutual Funds List All Share Classes for an Entity

     in the Start Search text box.Click the 
    1. .
      - In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Setup Portfolio Setup > Mutual Funds List All Share Classes for an Entity

      You see the List All Share Classes for an Entity panel.

    2. Enter the Entity Name or the Entity ID to identify the master fund entity with share classes you want to review.

    3. Click Submit.
      You see information about the share classes for the selected entity that met your criteria in the Show All tab in a grid format and the Share Classes tab in a report format.

  • Close the List All Share Classes for an Entity bottom tab.
  • Edit Share Class Information

    In the

    Change

    Edit Entity Share Class Information panel, you can change information about a share class.

    To

    change

    edit information about a share class:

    1. Do one of the following:

  • From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.
  • Enter Change

      - In Portfolio Data Center, in the left navigation pane, click Portfolio Desk Accounting Portfolio Setup > Mutual Funds Edit Entity Share Class Information

     in the Start Search text box.Click the Change

    Delete Share Classes

    In the Delete Entity Share Class Information panel, you can delete a share class.

    To delete a share class:

  • From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.
    1. Do one of the following: 
      - In Portfolio Data Center, in the left navigation pane, click Portfolio Desk Accounting Portfolio Setup > Mutual Funds Delete Entity Share Class Information

     in the Start Search text box.Click the

      - In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Setup Portfolio Setup > Mutual Funds Delete Entity Share Class Information

      You see the Delete Entity Share Class Information panel. You can change values only for the Entity ID, Entity Name, and Share Class Code fields. The remaining fields in the panel display information about the entity/share class you selected.

    2. In the Entity ID or Entity Name field, specify the master fund entity with the share class you want to delete.

    3. In the Share Class Code field, select the code for the share class you want to delete.

    4. Click Submit.

    Close the Delete Entity Share Class Information bottom tab.
