The following table describes the fields on the Custom Index Attributes dialog box.

Field

Description

Entity

The Entity Selector allows you to specify the source entity to assign to the selected target dictionary node. After you save your changes, this value appears in the Source Entity column of the target dictionary grid. In addition, the Base Currency for the Source Entity displays in the target dictionary grid.

Source

The source used to store the source entity in the PERFORM database for the node. After you save your changes, this value appears in the Source column of the target dictionary grid.

Source Dictionary (Model)

The dictionary (performance model) to use for the selected source entity. After you save your changes, this value appears in the Source Dictionary column of the target dictionary grid.

Source Dictionary Node

The dictionary level node to use for the selected source entity. After you save your changes, this value appears in the Source Dictionary Node column of the target dictionary grid. You can assign nodes below the Total level for both source and target models. By default the system uses the Total level. Otherwise, you can click the Select Level link to select a specific level in the Dictionary Node Selection Dialog box. For a Linked benchmark, you can only assign the node at the Total level. By default, the value is TOTAL, and you cannot change it. The Select Level link, which allows you to select a specific level in the Dictionary Node Selection Dialog box, is not available for Linked benchmarks.

Weight

The desired target weight of the node for the custom blended benchmark you are creating. When you define a blended benchmark, the target weights typically add up to 100%. However, you can define weights that do not total 100%. This can apply to derivative products and their respective custom benchmarks, and carve outs for analysis purposes.

Note

NOTE: You only need to manually enter this weight once at initial setup for a floating weight benchmark. Going forward, the weights float based on the logic described in Calculate Weights and Returns. The system automatically uses floated weights when you submit the entity on an ad hoc basis or perform an entity build on the floating weight entity. The weight resets also occur automatically, according to the business calendar and date rule when the entity build is executed.
