This section describes how to manage date rules, configure OLAP Reports, Advanced Reports, and Eagle Accounting Reports for distribution, and how to resubmit reports in the Eagle Portal.
About the Inbox
The Eagle Portal Inbox The Eagle Portal Inbox in the Reports window is a central location where users can view reports and other internal documents from the Eagle warehouse and Eagle accounting system over the Internet.
From From the Reports window, you can view reports sent to the Inbox, view scheduled reports, and create new reports for submission. Inbox reports and the count of new reports received are displayed in the Reports window.

You can also view non-Eagle reports. However, you must build a custom utility as part of the Eagle Portal implementation or use the Portal Direct Document Delivery tool. For more information, contact our professional services team for information on the Portal Direct Document Delivery tool.
Manage Date Rules
In the Eagle Portal’s Submit Report dialog box, under Period, you can select date rules to view reports for a specified period, such as today, yesterday, this week, this month, and prior month. The logic for these date rules is managed in Eagle’s General Reporting module
You can add, edit, remove, and change the order of the date rules displayed in the Submit Report dialog box in the User Settings Explorer.
Add a Date Rule
To add a date rule:

Portal Resubmit if you want date rule to pertain to reports that your users can resubmit in the Eagle Portal.
All if you want date rule to pertain to both Inbox and reports that your users resubmit.

Maintain Date Rules
To edit, rearrange, or delete date rules, you can use the User Settings Explorer window.

Send OLAP Reports and Advanced Reports to the Inbox
To send OLAP Reports and Advanced Reports to the Inbox, you need to set up a report package using the Advanced Report functionality, as described in the Eagle Advanced Reporting Guide.
Once you create a report package, you can select the reports to include in the package, the users or business groups to whom you want to distribute the report package, and specify report options for each report in the package.
To send reports to the Inbox:
From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.
Enter General Reporting in the Start Search text box.
Click the General Reporting (Reporting Center) link.
You see the Reporting Center window.Click Yes in the Do you see the Eagle logo here? dialog box.
You see the General Reporting window.Click the Reports tab.
View existing reports. For example, in the left pane of the Reports window, click to open the Reports folder, and then the Performance Analysis folder.
You see a list of existing Performance Analysis reports.Scroll down and double click the report you want to edit.
You see the Editing a Performance Analysis Report dialog box.Click Next to see the scheduling options.
Under Specify your Report options by clicking on the button below, click the Options button.
You see the Report Options dialog box.Under Distribution Options, select Send the Result to portal.
In Send the Result to portal, click the ellipsis, and click OK.
You see the Send to Portal dialog box.Select the format in which to distribute the report to the Eagle Portal.
To send an ERX report, select Eagle Report Exchange. This is Eagle's proprietary format for viewing reports. To view reports in this format, you must have downloaded and installed Eagle's ERX Viewer.Select a category from the Category drop down menu.
This option determines the menu under which the report will be displayed. Categories are configured using the Internal Report Category code value, IRPTCATEGORY.Select a scheduling frequency from the Frequency drop down menu and click OK.
This option assigns a schedule value to the report. Entering a value in this field is necessary if the report is scheduled.Click Overwrite Existing Reports to overwrite the previously sent report.

You can send Advanced Reports for Eagle’s Accounting solution to the Inbox.
To send Eagle Accounting reports to the Inbox:
Set Schedule Service 1 in the Windows Services list on the Eagle Accounting Web server to run as User.
Include the settings in the following table in the ScheduleService.ini file in the EagleSTAR\Tpe\Cfg directory.
These settings enable you to use Eagle Accounting reports in the Eagle Portal.

You can use the Portal Direct Document Delivery tool to distribute reports from third party external systems, such as trading, research, or compliance systems to the Inbox. For more information on this tool, contact Eagle Global Professional Services (GPS).
You can also distribute external reports to the Eagle Portal by including a hypertext link to an external XLS or PDF file within an Eagle Advanced Report. This is not a recommended practice.
Eagle recommends creating an Advanced Report that contains a link to the XLS or PDF file that you want to distribute to the Eagle Portal. There must be logic in the distribution process to associate the document files with a Client Reporting batch.
You can open the Advanced Report and click the embedded link to open the XLS or PDF file. The distribution dll or exe files interrogate the mdb for the location of that document and post the XLS or PDF file to the Eagle Portal.

You can configure the Eagle Portal to allow resubmitting of reports delivered to the Inbox. For example, a report may be resubmitted using another entity or time period or viewed in an Excel format instead of the PDF format.
To configure the Eagle Portal for report resubmission, you must add a report profile and specify the report details. To resubmit reports, you have to define the report categories and scheduling frequencies in the Codes window in the System Management Center. The code for Inbox submission categories is Portal Report Types and the interface is Eagle PACE.

Scheduling Options

Allows users to run the report ad hoc (on demand) or on a scheduled basis. To run the report ad hoc, select Right Now. To run the report on a scheduled basis, select one of the available scheduling frequencies.
After clicking OK, you return to the Resubmit/Inbox Profile Properties dialog box.
In Entity Criteria, click the ellipsis if you want to set up entity criteria for the report and click OK.
You return to the Resubmit/Inbox Profile Properties dialog box.
In Category, select a category for this report.
NOTE: The categories are defined using code values in the Codes window in the System Management Center. The code for Inbox submission is Portal Report Types and the interface is Eagle PACE.
In Available to, specify where the report is available for users to run.
In Date Rules, click the ellipsis, configure the date rule and click OK.
Date rules allow users to run reports for a specified period, for example, today, yesterday, or this week. Report specific date rules override any other date rules. This allows you to limit the number of rules that are available, based on the particular report type.
You see the User Settings Explorer window.
If using a report type of ACCESS PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS or ACCESS CONCENTRATION, you can run the report using Benchmark Override. Click the ellipsis to select a Benchmark Override value.

To edit a report profile:
From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.
Enter Portal Administration in the Start Search text box.
Click the Portal Administration (Reporting Center) link to access Portal Administration.
You see the Portal Administration window.

In the Eagle Portal, you can resubmit a report to run on an ad hoc (on demand) or scheduled basis. To run a report on scheduled basis, you need to defines the scheduling frequencies. Once you define scheduling frequencies, such as daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly, you can enable the scheduling options in the Eagle Portal.

Click the ellipsis in Default Query Row Limit, enter the number of rows, and click OK.
Click Resubmit schedule.
Under Schedule names, enter a descriptive name for the scheduling option in a blank row.
Click the drop down arrow and select the event package that corresponds to the schedule you are enabling for the Eagle Portal user.
