Selecting Dates for Composite Monitor Reports

When you define the Date Range report parameter for each Composite Monitor report, you specify date information in the Date Range dialog box.

All Composite Monitor reports are designed to retrieve and display the appropriate history records based on the record stored as of the "To" date in the date range. For example, assume that PORT1 has the following entity history records stored in the database for Strategy:

• 1/31/2006 - US Equity

• 2/28/2007 - Global Equity

• 3/31/2008 - Balanced Equity & Fixed

Next, you set the Composite Monitor report parameters for Date Range to use As of date: 3/31/2008. The report displays the history record stored in the database as of 3/31/2008, which in this example is Balanced Equity & Fixed.

The same logic applies when you select the "Between" Date Range option. However, for this example, consider a case where a history record does not exist as of the "To" date in the report. For such cases, the logic defaults to the closest prior record. Building on the same example, assume the Date Range of the report parameters is 12/31/2005 - 12/31/2007. In this case, the Strategy column for PORT1 displays Global Equity because it is the closest prior record.

Defining Filters for Composite Monitor Reports

Several Composite Monitor reports allows you to define filter criteria to narrow the report results. You can use the Filter option during the initial report setup or during the Resubmit process. When you define a filter, you see the GIPS Monitor Filter Criteria dialog box.
