Run Migration Wizard
Migration Wizard involves a workflow that can separate in time, location, and user identity in the outbound from the inbound migration. Outbound migration builds a file of migration instructions that can be directed whenever and wherever appropriate to be used to migrate on the inbound side.
Start Migration Wizard
Before you begin, make sure you have followed migration best practices and have already migrated in metadata or Data Mart models into the downstream environment.
To start the Migration Wizard:
From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.
Enter Portal Administration in the Start Search text box.
Click the Portal Administration (Reporting Center) link to access Portal Administration.
You see the Portal Administration window.Click Yes in the Do you see the Eagle logo here? dialog box.
You see the Portal Query Explorer window as the default.Click Migration.
The following Migration options are available:
Option | Description |
Migrate now... | Initiates a Migration Wizard migration of portal queries, query views, dashboard parts, and dashboard views, either into or out of an Eagle environment. Outbound migration builds a file of migration instructions, and inbound migrations read from that file. |
Add item to cart... | Permits adding portal queries, query views, dashboard parts, and dashboard views to a cart of temporary storage, then migrating them out once the selections are complete. |
Manage migration rules... | Select or change defaults. Select Use Existing or Overwrite for each component type. A set of such choices for all component types is a migration rule that can be saved for later use. |
Edit configuration | Select to run on/off logging of the migration process. Other settings relating to the non-supported process of Silent Migration are present but disabled. |
View logs.... | Select for an online view of log files produced by migration. |
