In the Modify Year End Date panel you can change a fund's ledger period year end date. Using this panel allows you to change the value of the Fiscal Year End flag on the Account Periods table as a streamlined process.

Verify which values changed? Did entity field, Fiscal End Date (tag 1162)  change? Did accounting period Y/N field change for the prior year end date? Other changes to accounting periods? To modify the year end date for an entity: 

  1. In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Transactions Ledger > Year End Processing > Modify Year End Date.
    You see the Modify Year End Date panel.
  2. In the Portfolio ID or Portfolio Name fields, select the unique identifier or name for the entity.
    The lookup field displays the Portfolio ID and related Portfolio Name for each entry that meet the criteria you entered. When you select a value, the Portfolio Currency field displays the portfolio currency value for the selected entity. 
  3. In the Current Year End Date field, specify the date that the system is currently using as the entity's ledger period year end date.
  4. In the New Year End Date field, specify the new date to use as the entity's ledger period year end date. 
  5. Click Submit. 

After you modify the year end date, you can use the List Accounting Periods panel to verify that the system updated the year end date for the accounting period for the entity/basis. For example, if say you identified January 1, 2020 as the Current Year End Date and you identified December 31, 2019 as the New Year End Date in the panel, and . You then list the accounting periods for 2019 , for and 2020. For the ledger period with a start date of 20191231 and an end date of 20191231 for the entity/basis, the ledger period year end y/n column shows a value of Y. For the ledger period with a start date of 20200101 and an end date of 20200101 for the entity/basis, the ledger period year end y/n column shows a value of N, rather than its former value of Y.
