You can use the Performance Fee Expense panels to create and maintain performance fees. The performance fee expense identifies the fund associated with the expense, and identifies a performance fee rule, which includes the benchmark to use for the fund. The performance fee expense indicates the type of performance fee to calculate (Performance fees allow you to set up fees for managing a fund where you adjust a base fee up if the fund outperforms its benchmark by a stated margin or where you adjust a base fee down if the fund underperforms its benchmark by a stated margin.

You can calculate three types of performance fees: Current Period Variable Expense, Prior Period Budgeted Expense, or Prior Period Estimated Budgeted Expense), the expense account for the fee, and other criteria used to calculate the fee. You set up a performance fee expense at the Total Fund level.
