You can use the Date Rules workspace to add, view, and edit date rules. Date rules determine the date (or date range) that filters data used for an associated process. For example, date rules are used to calculate relative dates, that is, dates in relation to the current cycle effective date. You can assign a date rule to block stale vendor data from use when you define the data strategies.

Create Date Rules

You can add date rules to calculate relative dates.

To add create date rules:

  1. In the Setup workspace, in the left navigation, click Date Rules.
    You see the Date Rules workspace with list of available date rules.
  2. Click Create New.
    You see the New Date Rule dialog box.
  3. Enter Name for the field.
  4. Optionally, enter a Description for the date rule.
  5. Under Start Date, select a Type from the drop-down list.

  6. Select the Offset by by entering the number and then selecting the frequency. Click Using Business Calendar to use the business calendar to determine the dates.
  7. Select the Adjust to from the drop-down list. Click Using Business Calendar to use the business calendar to determine the dates.
  8. Enter Additional Offset by entering the number and then selecting the frequency. Click Using Business Calendar to use the business calendar to determine the dates.
  9. Under End Date, select a Type from the drop-down list and then click on the calendar to select a date.
  10. Select the Offset by by entering the number and then selecting the frequency. Click Using Business Calendar to use the business calendar to determine the dates.
  11. Select the Adjust to from the drop-down list. Click Using Business Calendar to use the business calendar to determine the dates.
  12. Enter Additional Offset by entering the number and then selecting the frequency. Click Using Business Calendar to use the business calendar to determine the dates.
  13. To add a Single Date, select either Start Date or End date.
  14. Select a Business Calendar Source from the drop-down list.
  15. Select a Time Zone from the drop-down list.
  16. Optionally, you can click Test Now to test the date rule or click the Test when saving checkbox to test when saving your changes.
  17. Click Save.
    The new rule is added to the list of available date rules.
