Before you can create income based expenses, you must set up income ledger account rules. You identify an income ledger account rule using the GL Acct Rule ID. The income ledger account rule defines the range of income accounts to include in the income based expense calculation.

You must set up income ledger account rules for use with both income based expenses and for use with asset management fees.

Create an Income Ledger Account Rule

In the Create Income Ledger Account Rule panel, you can define the range of income accounts to include in the income based expense calculation.

To create an income ledger account rule:

  1. In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Setup > Expense > Income Based Expense > Create Income Ledger Account Rule.
    You see the Create Income Ledger Account Rule panel.
  2. Complete the options in the Create Income Ledger Account Rule panel.
  3. Click Submit.

Edit an Income Ledger Account Rule

In the Edit Income Ledger Account Rule panel, you can change the range of income accounts to include in the income based expense calculation.

To edit an income ledger account rule:

  1. In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Setup > Expense > Income Based Expense > Edit Income Ledger Account Rule.
    You see the Edit Income Ledger Account Rule panel.
  2. In the GL Acct Rule ID box, select the identifier for the income ledger account rule you want to edit. 
    You see the start and end accounts associated with the rule.
  3. In the Start Account and End Account fields, change the start and end account values, as needed.
  4. Click Submit.

List Income Ledger Account Rules

In the List Income Ledger Account Rule panel, you cab view a list of income ledger account rules.

To view a list of income ledger account rules:

  1. In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Setup > Expense > Income Based Expense > List Income Ledger Account Rule.
    You see the List Income Ledger Account Rule panel.
  2. In the GL Acct Rule ID box, select the income ledger account rule you want to view. Otherwise, leave the field blank to view all income ledger account rules.
  3. Click Submit.
    You see see the income ledger account rules that met your criteria in the Show All tab. 

Delete an Income Ledger Account Rule

In the Delete Income Ledger Account Rule panel, you can delete an income ledger account rule.

To delete an income ledger account rule:

  1. In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Setup > Expense > Income Based Expense > Delete Income Ledger Account Rule.
    You see the Delete Income Ledger Account Rule panel.
  2. In the GL Acct Rule ID box, select the identifier for the income ledger account rule you want to delete. 
    You see the Chart of Account Name, and the start and end accounts associated with the rule.
  3. Click Submit.
    The system deletes the income ledger account rule.
