In the Portfolio Desk workspace, you can create new entities.

To create add a new entity:

  1. In the Portfolio Desk workspace, click Create New in the upper left hand corner of the window.
    The Create New Entity dialog box (access to all policies) opens.
  2. Select the relevant Policy based on the type of entity you must create and then click OK.
    The user interface displays the fields specified by the policy.
    The page defaults to the current date. If the effective date of the new entity is for a date in the past or future, use the date selector to select the appropriate date.
  3. Specify the values for the fields in the Create New Entity dialog box and then click Save.
    Depending on the policy, the X might contain additional configuration tabs, such as benchmark assignment, peer group assignment, disclosure selector, asset mix policy selector, or fee schedule selector.
  4. To view the remaining pages, click Next.
  5. Make appropriate assignments where necessary. Existence of a configuration tab does not mean the information is required.
  6. Click Submit.
    The system submits your request to the engine for processing (where validations and authorizations are applied).
  7. Click RefreshScreen.
    The summary window workspace displays the new entity.

Creating an Entity in Portfolio Data Center

  1. With PDC open, in the Portfolio Desk workspace, click With PDC open, select Portfolio Desk > Account > Entity.
  2. Click Create New in the upper left corner of the page.
    You see the Create New dialog box.
  3. Selecting Select a policy, or template, for an entity provides to provide you with a predefined set of information, which specifies its unique characteristics, relationships, financial data, and vendor data. From the Select Policy drop-down list, select the policy based on the type of entity you want to create, and then click OK.

  1. The Effective Date at the top of the panel defaults to the current date.
  2. If the effective date of the entity is for a date in the past or future, use the date selector to select the appropriate date. 
    The EffectiveDate at the top of the panel defaults to the current date.The Details tab has five sections:
  • Identification
  • Core Details
  • Classification
  • Performance Settings,
  • and Relationship Information

You can use the fields in these sections to add details to the entity. However, to create an entity, the only information you must provide is an Entity ID.
