To change fund entity characteristics as of a future date:

  1. In Portfolio Data Center workspace, click Portfolio Desk in the left navigation.
    The Entities workspace opens, displaying the available entities (depending on any default filters that are in effect).
  2. Search for your entity using either saved searches or specify the relevant filter From the left navigation, select Portfolio Desk and click the appropriate entity type.
    You see the Summary workspace for the entity type you have selected with the respective entities.
  3. Click the View By drop-down list and then select any one of the following options: All; Exceptions.

  4. Complete the required search criteria and then click Search.

    The system displays

    You see the search

    results based on the criteria you selected.Select the entity you want to modify and then double-click it to open the details.
    By default, the system launches entities details in current mode. You

    list of entities that meet the search criteria.

  5. Double-click the entity for which you want to create the history record.
    You see the Edit Entity workspace.
     You can see and edit the most current history date. For reference purposes, you also can see the second most recent history record, but it is grayed out for editing.

  6. In the fund details panel, to enable history mode, click the Show Historical Data option.
    History mode enables you to complete following tasks:
    • View and edit historic records for a fund.
    • Bulk-edit a field across multiple effective dates.
    • Duplicate an existing historic imprint to a new date.
  7. Create a new record for the change date. Hover over any field in the most recent {}* history record and right-click Duplicate then assign the date when the change becomes effective.
    The details window shows an uncommitted imprint for the chosen date in blue font. *{}Assumes that the future-dated record (before editing) should have the same values as the most recent recordSet the effective future date range period for which you want to add the history record in From and To date fields.
  8. Scroll to the field for which you want to add a history record in the Entity Details workspace.
  9. Right-click on any field within the Entity Details area. Note: The corresponding effective date of the field is taken as chosen date for duplication.
    You see a list of menu options. 
  10. Select Duplicate.
    You see the Duplicate Effective Date dialog.
  11. Specify the future effective date to create the new history record.
  12. Click OK.
    This in-turn clone the chosen date records into the newly specified future effective date. You see the new history records created in blue font with the specified future effective date.
  13. Scroll to the field that is changing. To edit a field, double click the value to open the editing window and edit the following fields:

    Required; should be the date for which the change is effective, specify the future date.

    End date

    Reason code

    Optional preset Select reason codes from code list (optional)

    Comment

    Optional user-defined text

    To save the edits, click Save

    Provide comment about the change (optional)


  14. Click Save to save the changes.
    If necessary, continue to make field-level edits, saving each change along the way.
    Note that saving : Saving the field-level changes does not automatically apply the changes.
  15. Click View and Submit in the lower right corner of the details window.
    A grid opens, enabling you to review the changes you are about to submit for processing.
  16. To submit the changes, click Submit Changes.
    PDC creates a record for the recently requested effective date.
  17. To cancel the changes, Click View & submit changes to submit the modified details.
    You see the Change Summary dialog which allows you to review all activity before submitting the change request to the PDC engine.
  18. Click Cancel to cancel the changes and return to the details window and then click Cancel.
