You can use the Trade Recon console to review breaks between trades and confirms and force matches, correct trade details, and cancel trades.

Force Match a Trade to a Confirm

You can force the match of a trade to a confirm to resolve a break.

To force a match between a trade and a confirm:

  1. Select any unmatched record in a query result, right click Locate Confirm.
    You see the Locate Confirm dialog box.
  2. In the Query Option area, select the Query option, and then click Locate.
  3. You see the Locate Instances By Query dialog box, with the Security information and Trade date for the selected record pre-filled and other dates defaulted to today's date.
  4. Click Locate to obtain a list of possible matches.
    You see the Located Confirms window populate with possible matches, if any.
  5. Select a possible match and review the two records side-by-side in the Locate Confirms dialog box until you have the correct selection.
  6. Click Match to manually match the trade and confirm records.

Change Trade Fields to Resolve a Break

You can change trade detail field information to resolve a break.

To change details information about a trade:

  1. Select any unmatched record in a query result, right click Edit Trade.
    You see the Edit Trade dialog box.
  2. Change the fields on the record, including an Update Notes entry.
  3. Click OK to submit the change.

Cancel a Blotter Trade to Resolve a Break

You can cancel a trade in the blotter tables to resolve a break.

To cancel a trade in the blotter tables:

  1. Select any unmatched record in the reconciliation query result.
  2. Right click Cancel Trade.
  3. The system marks the trade cancelled.

Note: The trade is only canceled in the blotter tables. The trade is still a valid trade in the accounting system. For proper correction, perform your cancel in the accounting system and download to the blotter tables. The system then matches the cancel against the original trade, which allows for the re-entry of a corrected trade.
