- From any Metadata Manager window, click Types in the navigation path, or click the Types bottom tab to display types in the workspace.

- In the Type text box, enter the new type name.

- Click to select Element or Map.

- In the Description text box, enter the type description.

- In the Collector Information area, review all the bots that are currently available for the selected type. See the Manage Bots section.

- To add more bots, click +FS or +DB and select the type of bot based on the metadata being loaded, for example, Items, Parents and Children, Attributes (for Item Attributes), Map Attributes, or Mapping.

- In the Type Attributes area, you can add a name to the existing category and the new type will be grouped by that name. Click next to the type attribute and enter a name, if required.

- In the Item Attributes right area, click the green plus sign.

- You see the Edit Attribute dialog box.

- Enter the new item attribute name and complete all the appropriate options. If required, click the green plus sign to assign a value to the attribute and click the white and green check mark.

- Click the white and green check mark to save the new attribute.

- If you wish the new attribute to appear as a category in the left navigation, click to select Is Category. If you wish the new attribute to appear as a column in the Items window, click to select Show in Items screen. You can also set the new attribute as Readonly or Locked.

To delete an existing metadata type: 1. From
- From any Metadata Manager window, click Types in the navigation path, or click the Types bottom tab to display types in the workspace.

- In the Types window, click a row with the type you wish to delete. To select several rows, press and hold the CTRL key.

- Click Metadata, click the Types drop down and select Delete.

- You see the Delete Type dialog box.

- Click Yes to delete the type you selected. Click No to cancel the delete.
