In the Metadata Manager, a datamap is a metadata type that includes Eagle Dictionary datamaps with the source to target field mappings and mapping definitions. Mapping describes a horizontal and bi-directional relationship between two items. The most common mapping relationships are between a column and a tag.

You can view Eagle Dictionary datamaps in the Types window and manage the datamaps associated with a specific type in the Item Detail window. You can also export datamap details to various file formats.

Note

Datamaps can also be added via bots, or via CSV files created in the CSV Loader utility. When you run the Collector Engine, new datamaps will be loaded into the Metadata Manager's database.
