The Potential Dividend Deduction report displays potential tax deductions associated with cash dividends generated at the lot level on U.S. domiciled common securities held in long positions meeting specific holding period criteria. Cash dividends processed by Eagle Accounting at the position level are not reported. The report excludes non-US domiciled securities, preferred stock dividends, and cash dividends generated on short positions.
To create the Potential Dividend Deduction report:
- From the Accounting Center window, click Reporting in the left navigation.
- Double click Investment Accounting, Compliance Reports, and Potential Dividend Deduction.
You see the Potential Dividend Deduction panel. - Complete the fields on the Potential Dividend Deduction panel.
- Click Submit.
- Click Advanced Report or ClassicGrid Report for the report view you want.
The report results appear on your desktop for the view selected. Grid and advanced report views include the cash dividends and potential deduction percentages and amounts by security, for a given entity and accounting date range.

Search Criteria
- Entity ID. Specifies a portfolio, sector portfolio, composite portfolio, or Master Fund by the entity ID of the entity.
- Entity Name. Specifies a portfolio, sector portfolio, composite portfolio, or Master Fund by name of the entity.
- Source Name. Specifies the data source for your report results. For example, STARDIRECT.
- Accounting Basis. Specifies the entity accounting basis. For example, USTAX, GAAP, or IFRS.
- Report Period. Specifies the time period, date range, or particular date for your report. The time period may be entity specific or security specific, such as fiscal year. Options include:
– Daily Activity
– Date Range (Default)
– Fiscal Year to Date
– Life to Date - Report Start Date. Specifies the start date for your report result. The default is first day of the current month. To use this field, you must select Date Range as your report period.
- Report End Date. Specifies the ending date for your report results. The default is today's date.
- Include/Exclude Cancels. Allows you to filter cancellable events. Dividends from a prior reporting period which are cancelled in the current reporting period are displayed as negative amounts. Options include:
