Next, add the return for the fund's comparison benchmark return to the report. The Performance Analysis field for a benchmark is the same as the fund's, except you set the entity to be used in the drop-down list list at the bottom of the form. See the following figure.
This example uses the fund's primary comparison benchmark. The report goes to the entity record for the fund and lookup the benchmark, and then retrieves the return for this column for the benchmark. You also can select a particular index to display against all funds.
For For example, you can create a column that always displays the S&P 500 return for the period.
The next column shows the difference between the two returns. This is a Rollup Calculation field, pointed at the two performance analysis fields. See the following figure.
At the end of the report profile are two Contribution to Return fields, as shown in the following figure. These fields weight the returns for the securities or segments within the fund to determine how much each security or segment contributed to the fund's total return for the day.
