Notification for pending authorizations is displayed as an exception on the Securities Summary screen within the Reference Desk. The Securities Summary pane has two columns, which is used to filter and search for all entities for its authorization status:

  • Needs Authorization. It displays the following two possible status.
    • Authorization Pending. This indicates whether the security contains one or more pending authorizations at the field level, security level, or both.
    • Nothing Pending. This indicates that there are no pending authorizations for the entity either at the field level or the security level.
  • Has Rejections. This indicates whether the entity's ‘Authorization Pending’ status was 'rejected' by the approver or not.

During a typical business case scenario, it is possible that the entity has 'Authorization Pending' status for the most recent record that requires an approval (or rejection) and also has a past authorization that has already been rejected. It is important to look at 'Needs Authorization' and 'Has Rejections’ columns together to determine the appropriate workflow steps for resolution.

Note: Once you highlight a particular entity in the Entity pane, the Exception pane lists the pending authorizations along with the field name, date and error message.
