Option

Description

Sorting and filtering

Click any underlined column name to sort in ascending or descending order. Click the drop down arrow next to any column name to filter by that column.

New

Create a new part.

Edit

Edit an existing part.

Copy a part.

Delete

Delete a part.

Usage

Allows you to determine in which view a selected part is used.

Manage Dashboard Views

Click to navigate directly to the Manage menu.

Return to Dashboard

Click to navigate to the Dashboards window.

You can use the Dashboard Wizard to create dashboard parts. The options you see are dynamic and only display if they are available for the query type you have selected for building the dashboard part.

To create a new dashboard part:

  1. Log in to the Eagle Portal.
    You see the Dashboards window as the default.

  2. Click the Manage drop down menu and select Parts.

  3. Select New.
    You see the Define window.

Option

Description

Part Name

Enter the name of the part you are creating. Click

the icon to add a translation if you are running multilingual Eagle Portal. Instead of entering an English value for the Part Name, you enter the value in the language you are using. Check the Do not display part title in the Dashboard check box if you do not want the part name to display in dashboard view.

Category

Select the category for the dashboard part from the drop down list. The values in this list are from the values you defined in the Codes window under Portal Part Category Internal, ID 10299.

Select Part Type

Determines the type of part you are creating. Options include:

  • Data

  • Chart

  • Chart and Data. Select Chart or Data as the initial display after your users run a dashboard view containing this part. When a part is configured for Chart and Data, you can toggle between viewing chart and data for this part in the dashboard.

Select a Query

Specifies the query report on which the part is built upon.

Select Fields

Determines the fields that are included in the part. If the query is from a Data Mart model, you may select the fields from the model's header or main query.

Arrows

Use the horizontal arrows to move fields between Available and Selected Fields. Use the vertical arrows to move fields up and down in Selected Fields for ordering of fields.

Add All/Remove All

Allows you to quickly move fields. Option include:

  • Add All. Moves all fields from the Available Fields section to the Selected Fields section.

  • Remove All. Moves all fields from the Selected Fields section to the Available Fields section.

Click Next to continue.

You see the Design window.
