Description

Weighting Method

Selects the weighting assumption that determines when cash flows are needed and ensure that all fields in the Field Rule are consistent.

Create sub-period based on

Used to determine the sub-periods based on the presence of positions for a fund. Options include:

  • Cash Flows. The default option uses the prior release SCF logic of summing cash flows and positions then comparing to the threshold.
  • Positions. Bypasses the prior release's logic, and instead creates sub-period breaks for every day that a position is found for the selected entity. If the entity has positions every day, then a new sub-period is created every day.
  • Cash Flows and Positions. A combination of both of the above options, with the idea that cash flow breaks can be incorporated with ad hoc dates. The cash flow breaks are determined based on cash flows, but the end dates are driven by the presence of positions.

Grouping Level

Displays the grouping rule for each Report Rule selected in the profile and allows you to define the field to aggregate the cash flows and market values in the threshold check.
Note that the grid control lists each Report Rule and the pulldown menu to the right displays all the grouping fields for that rule only. When more than one Report Rule is selected, a new instance of the report is submitted.

Cash Adjustment Field

Selects the Cash Adjustment field that is evaluated against the threshold.

Market Value Field

Selects the Holding field that is used as the threshold.
The threshold calculation requires an Advanced holding field with the begin date process and User Defined indicator specified. The SCF window filters all fields, except Advanced holding fields, with the begin date process and User Defined indicator specified.

Percent Threshold

Defines the percentage of the Market Value threshold field.

Use Static thresholds

Disables the dynamic threshold calculation and uses a static threshold based on the report beginning market value. A static threshold uses one threshold level for all sub-periods using the monthly beginning market value. Dynamic thresholds are redefined at the end of every sub-period.

Use existing subperiod data

Disables the sub-period calculation and commit process, allowing the monthly return to be committed separately.

Use Business Calendar

This option specifies whether to use the business calendar for any date calculations in the SCF Preprocessor. Options include:

  • Selected (Check mark). Eagle Performance uses the entity level business calendar for the profile entity, if it is available, for any date calculations in the SCF Preprocessor; otherwise, it uses the Eagle PACE business calendar. If the report includes multiple entities that use entity level business calendars, those entities must share the same entity level business calendar.

If you use beginning or middle of day assumptions, select the Use Business Calendar option, and the significant cash flows occurs on the day after a non business day, the SCF Processing uses the entity level business calendar to find the nearest previous business day. It uses that market value in the calculation. If no entity level business calendar is available or if the source specified has no business calendar, the system uses the Eagle PACE business calendar.
  • Cleared (No check mark). Default. The business calendar is not used.
For more information, see Weekend Exceptions. For information about setting up business calendars, see the "Performing Business Calendar Checks" section of the inĀ Performance Analysis and Reporting User Guide.

Run Preprocessor Only

This check box disables the execution of underlying sub-period and monthly reports allowing you to create a preliminary run of the SCF summary log without calculating the sub-period returns.

Disable Summary Logs

The SCF summary log can create large monthly files if the process is run for a large number of entities. To help avoid these large files, selecting this check box disables the creation of the SCF summary log, allowing the report to run without creating the SCF Summary log. Details of the SCF process are still available in the SCF Detail Log stored in the PACE engine log folder.
