When you use dual approval with Control Center's fund approval hierarchy, you must perform several additional setup tasks. For general information about setting up a fund approval hierarchy, see Set Up a Fund Approval Hierarchy.
...
- Status Map. Edit a status map to set it up as dual approval. All funds assigned to that status map then follow the dual approval process.
- User Roles. Set up user roles for use with the fund approval hierarchy that include the Annotator (Role 0) level, and assign those roles to the appropriate Eagle users. For more information, see Manage User Roles.
- Final Approval. Consider your usage of the Final Approval option and the Final Approval of All option, which allow you to approve edits at all role levels. In User Administration, you can use the Allow Final Approval Override option to control which Eagle users are authorized to use those options. If you use the dual approval process with the fund approval hierarchy, you typically do not allow general users to use the Final Approval or Final Approval of All options, requiring them to follow the dual approval process. You can use this option to allow high-level administrator users to circumvent the dual approval process and apply a final approval of edits in extreme cases, as needed. Users do not see the Final Approval option and the Final Approval of All option unless you enable this option in User Administration.
Create a Status Map That Uses Dual Approval
...
To edit a status map that uses dual approval:
- In Control Center, in the left navigation pane, click Tools > Status Map Editor.
You see the Status Map Editor workspace. This workspace is comprised of eight panes. - In the Product Type list, click the Control Center product for which you are using dual approval.
Options include:
- Mutual Funds. Default. Uses Control Center for mutual fund workflows.
- Investment Management Funds. Uses Control Center for non mutual fund workflows.
If you change the product type, the system updates the data displayed on the page to match your selection. The Entity Status Maps area displays the names of all status maps created for the selected product type.
NOTE: Only users with the Full Permissions check box enabled for Control Center in User Administration can select either Product Type option. Otherwise, your Control Center Center Role setting of Mutual Funds or Investment Management Funds is the default value. - In the Entity Status Maps area, click Edit.
You see the Edit Entity Map box. The system assigns a value to the ID box, and you cannot change it. - In the Name box, you can update the name for the status map.
- In the Core check box, you can clear the check box to identify the map as a custom map rather than a Core map.
By default, the check box is cleared. Control Center provides a set of core Status columns with a core mutual fund Status Map and a core non-mutual fund Status Map. As you do with edit tests, you copy a core map to create your own custom version. - In the Dual Approve check box, select the check box if the entity status map uses dual approval.
Otherwise, clear the check box if the map does not use dual approval. By default, the check box is cleared. - Click OK to save your changes.
A row for the status map you created appears in the Entity Status Maps area. The Dual Approval column shows a value of Y or N.
After you create a status map, you use the other panes in the Status Map Editor to add or edit Status columns and use them to update the status map. The Funds pane lists the entities associated with the selected status map. You can edit the entities that use the status map to identify the status map they use as their daily and/or monthly map.
