In the Portfolio Desk's All workspace, you can create Benchmark entities, which belong to an entity type INDX. You can also create Benchmark entities from the Indices workspace.

About Benchmarks

A benchmark is a standard against which the performance of an entity, security, mutual fund or investment manager is measured. Generally, Industry indexes (for example, Russell 2000, S&P 500) are used as benchmarks.

PDC allows you to create Benchmark entity to use for "what if" exercises through modeling. For example, you can set up a benchmark to determine the impact of events such as a change in interest rates without actually buying or selling the securities.

For more information about using benchmark entities with Eagle Performance, see Manage Index Data
