Notification for pending authorizations is displayed as an exception on the Entity Summary screen within the Portfolio Desk. The Entity Summary pane has two columns, which is used to filter and search for all entities for its authorization status:

  • Needs Authorization. It displays the following two possible status.

  • Authorization Pending. This indicates whether the entity contains one or more pending authorizations at the field level, entity level, or both.

  • Nothing Pending. This indicates that there are no pending authorizations for the entity either at the field level or the entity level.

  • Has Rejections. This indicates whether the entity's ‘Authorization Pending’ status was 'rejected' by the approver or not.

In Portfolio Data Center, from the left navigation, select Portfolio Desk and click the appropriate entity type.
You see the Summary workspace with the available list of entities.

  1. Provide the appropriate search criteria, as needed and then click Search.
You see the Entity Details pane displaying the list of entities based on the search criteria and 'As of Date'.

  2. Select the entity you want to authorize.

  3. On the Home tab, in the Actions group, click Authorize.
You see the Needs Authorization dialog box. By default, the system list all the available fields of the entity that are overridden and pending authorization.

  4. Select the exception, either Entity level or Field level, you want to authorize and then click Authorize.
You see the system changes the authorization status for the exception from Require Approval to Authorized.

  5. Click Save.
The system clears the pending authorizations and saves the changes.

Info

An entity is released to the next release level even if it has non-current pending authorizations. The release level is tied to the current definition of that entity. Therefore as long as the most recent history of an entity is free of pending authorizations it can attain a fully released release level (assuming no exceptions from failed validations).
